This monday morning I set my alarm early to be sure I won't be late for my tutor group. But there is always something to colplain about and I was critisised by my tutor that I had forgotten my jacket. I had to get it quickly and came, again, a little late for the school assembley. On wednesday we had hockey and the training did't start very well. We had to make 6 sprints around the D but after the first sprint I felt something coming up in my leg which really hurt and I could't finish sprinting. The trainer told me to stretch it and after a while I could run again without the pain in my leg. That night was supposed to be the 'special' night again but for some reason this was delayed to thursday night. We went bowling, for the third time! I was in a group together with; Diederik, Tom, Lilly an Dan. It was really funny because the one who least expected to win won. It was Lilly who won the game. She ended up in 1st place with about 3 strikes and some spares. This time I only got into 3rd place but it didn't matter because it was really fun. The rest of the week was not much going on. The next week was great. On wednesday we had hockey again and on thursday I went to Cobham to buy my Sinterklaas gift for Diederik. I bought him three DVD's (Mr. Beans' Holiday, The Waterboy and Inside Man). That night we where aloud to skip prep and celebrate Sinterklaas at Carmens' house with all the dutch students from Reed's school an ACS (the international school in Cobham). I came a little late from Cobham and almost everyone was gone but luckely Sophie, a dutch girl was on her way two and she brought us there. The night was great, Diederik bought me a season of The Family Guy and around 8:30 we where back. Just in time before the Christmas tree decoration contest between the girls and the boys started. Eventually, against all expectations the boys won. On saturday morning I went down to the rugby pitches to watch the games between the houses. It was great to watch and now I really start to like rugby. Around 2 o'clock Rick, Diederik and I went to Cobham to buy a secret santa present which would be next thursday. Beside that present I bought 2 more gifts for my brother and Victor. Sunday morning there was a christmas carol service at a cathedral in Guildford. The hole school went but it was quit boring.

Monday mornig I didn't hear my alarm go off and so I woke up a little late. First I didn't realise it but after a minute I looked at my phone and saw that the clock had just past 9 o'clock. I dressed myself as fast as I could but it didn't really matter because I allready mist my tutor group and the biggest part of the school assembley. My tutor wasn't to happy to see me showing up that late and told me that she had suspisions that I wasn't coming to the tutor group because I was not on the list which ment that I couldn't get punished for it. The next day, directly after school, I had a hockey match against St. Georges, a school not to far from here. The first half of the match we were dominating the game but unfortunately the other team scored from a counter attack. The second half the quality of our game got less and was clearly visible, everyone started to become a little tired, including myself. I had to run up and down the field but never really got the ball, except for a few times. Luckely, just minutes before the end of the game, a team member scored the 1-1 and the game ended up in a tie. The next mornig we had chapel, but his week it was different because it was the birthday of Andrew Reed, the man who started Reed's school. An old pupil, who came to the school 55 years ago, came (I thought) to talk about his expirience at Reed'd but instead he began to talk about Christianity, which was quite boring. After school I had hockey again. It was great fun because we went to play against the girls hockey team which is really bad. One half of their team was just talking to each other and the other half was scared for the ball, it was not very serieus but I enjoyed it. The next morning I got up early so I was sure I wouldn't miss my tutor group. After that I went to chapel service again, it was really strange because I was sitting next to people I didn't knew and I got the exact same speech I had the day before and just before it ended I came to the conclusion that I was sitting in the wrong room! I had to be at the house assembley which I missed. After school Diederik and I went to Cobham, but this time we where told to take a shortcut through the woods but we didn't really found the way and got a little lost but after 15 minutes of walking I recognized a path which we took the last time. After 45 minutes we arrived at the grocery store and bought a big supply of food and water. On our way back it started to get quite dark and decided to try the correct shortcut again but soon I was lost. Luckely Diederik thought he knew the way and within 30 minutes we arrived back at school. The big supply of food wasn't necessarybecause my parents arrived the next day and brought me cookies, pancakes, apples an Cola which was great. After showing them my room my parents, Diederik and I left to go to London where we slept in a apartment. We went to the Spaghetti House near Covent Garden for dinner and around 10 o'clock we went back to go to bed. The next morning we woke up around 8 o'clock and after breakfest we went straight into London (actually we allready where in the center of London) to go shopping. We went to Harrolds, a famous department store in London. Unforuanaly I didn't buy anyting becasue it was too expensive, but watching was enough. I've seen the biggest flatscreen tv in the world, a mobile phone designed by porsche for the price of £900,-! a woman wher I would fit in more than 5 times, designer clothes for dogs and a enormous rabbit which was the length of my arm (60cm)! After that we went to the second floor where there was a (allready) christmas fare. The room was full of people trying to buy something and you where pushed along a path and eventually I bought something. Some kind of decoration we needed to buy to decorate the sixth form house. After that we quickly went out to get some fresh air and buy a drink. On our way to find a restaurant which was not full, we came along a street with only designer shops like; Gucci, Louis Vuiton, Armani, Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss, Versace, Roberto Cavalli etc. but suprisingly all shops where empty, sometimes there where 2 people standing there but not more. We eventually gave up searching and went to the nearest Starbucks where we bought a drink and a sandwich. We went back to the apartment and after 1.5 hours we went for dinner the a pub called; ''the george'' a typicall english pud. My hamburger was quite good but the spaghetti my mum had was disgusting. After dinner we went to see the Lion King. I had never been to a musical and this was a great expirience. The music, decor and costumes where beautiful. It was a great expirience and after the show we went to bed. The next morning I woke up at 9 o'clock. Diederik was allready gone because Myra came that day to visit him. My parent and I went to the Tower of London and the Tower Bridge. It was quite interesting but it was not very special. Before we left we quickly bought a cheeseburger downstairs at the McDonald's. My parents brought me back to school and they left on their way back to Wassenaar.

Monday morning was as always hard, tired and not in the mood for school. After the assembley, I directly had a maths test which luckely was realy easy. Wednesday we had hockey training but this time it was realy hard. We did an exercise in which there was a 3 on 2 situation and when we lost ball possesion we had to sprint back to the middle line, and after that we had to move on. After half an hour I was exhausted and after an hour I almost couldn't walk. Saturday morning Diederik woke me up to ask me if I wanted to come with him and his dad, who arrived the night before, to London. I was in a hurry so I couldn't eat my breakfast and around 10 o'clock we left Reeds school to Oxshott trainstation to catch our train to London. As we arrived we directly went to the London eye. The ''flight'', as they call it there, took 30 minutes. The few over London was increadable. Luckely we had beautiful weather and where able to see far and walk around all day. After the London eye we went to see the aquarium next to it where we saw sharks and small weird fishes. Around 12 o'clock we went to a Italian restaurant in the centre of London which was overcrouded and which had a stressed out waitress who began to talk in Italian to Diederiks' father. After our sandwich we immediately left and went to see the (warenhuis) Liberty where we drank a cup of tea and buy some prsents for home. Than we moved on to Covent Garden where everything ,already, was decorated. Here we bought some more prsents and went on to Leicester Square to reserve a table for the night. After an hour we finally got one and than went to the ODEON where saw the new James Bond which was realy good but I didn't and still don't understand it. We where in the same theatre as 2 years ago when we went to a ilm on the London trip. The theatre rooms are like 4 times larger than in holland which in comparison are tiney. After we had seen Quantum of Solace we went to the restaurant where we ate a delicious meal. Diederiks' father brought us back to school and I went directly to bed.

Sunday morning after brunch we went, again, on the sunday trip where we went, again, bowling where I, again, became first. After bowling we went to see a baskeball game between the Guildfor Heat and the Plymouth Rangers (I don't know which one we supported). It was the first time in my life I went to a basketball game and it was pretty fun. We came back around 6 o'clock and went to dinner.

The last week was pretty hard with all the tests but luckely its over. My ckv went ok but not outstanding and I got an excellent result for my english tto vp (7.5)! On friday Diederik and I went to Cobham to look around and buy some water. The walk to Cobham takes a quite long time and much energy. It is weird not having a bike so that you have to walk or being brought somewhere by car or train. After 45 minutes of walking we finally arrived at Reeds but we had no time to for dinner, because a couple of dutch people (us included) where invited to go to Sjors, a dutch boy who lives in Woking, a town not too far from school, to see a film and eat some pizza. It was a nice evening but we already had to be back at 11 o'clock. It was nice to go away in the evening and not just sit at school doing nothing. Saturday was pretty boring. I woke up at 11:30 and did nothing for the rest of the day. Around 8 o'clock I watched spiderman-3 and went to bed. The next day we went on a sunday trip which is organized by the school for all boarders who stay in the weekends. We went bowling where I came in second place! and then we went lasergaming which was really fun. I wasn't very good but that didn't matter. After lasergaming we were aloud to go shopping for a hour, but I didn't find something. Only a 6 inch chicken terryaki sub from the subway. Back at school I watched a James Bond (casino royale) and went to bed.

Saturday Diederik, James, Rik and I went to Cobham, little town which looks like Wassenaar, to buy some food and drinks. The walk was wet and pretty long but luckely it didn't rain. As we walked out of the grocery store the rain began to pore down, we waite for a while and moved on as it got less. We were back at around 5 o'clock and we immediatey started to learn for the ANW pta test we would get on monday (I've got a 7.6! mom and dad). Sunday we had the chance to go to london and see the new James Bond but we dind't go because of the test. On monday I had to learn for another test which I had on tuesday (english tto) which I made quite good. On tuesday I had to learn for another test (maths) I had on wednesday. I think I got 2 questions right and 1 wrong. On wednesday I had hockey training and I had to learn for another test (dutch) which I had today. I think I made it well, accept for a few mistakes. And today I have to learn for another test (ckv) which I have tomorrow, so wish me luck.

The last 4 where quite fun. Wednesday was the 5th of november, it was Guy Fawkes day (never heard of it). It is the day that he carried out the 'Gunpowder Plot' in order to kill the king. Fawkes was captured while he was guarding the gunpowder. He got the death penalty and was hanged on the 31st of january 1606.
After school we played our first hockey match against an other school, our team is not very good and unfortuatly we lost the game by 1-6. Wednesday night was poker night. once in every two weeks a special night is organized by school. I didn't win but I still received a package maltesers. On friday night every one celebrated the 5th of november with fireworks and a traditional bonfire. The fireworks where beautiful, they went on and on with beautiful colours. The bonfire was huge, we could get free hotdogs and drinks which was great beacause our dinner that night was not very good. The most childeren left on friday but a few stayed and we played sardines through the whole building. The next morning we had to get up early because it was rememberence day. At 10:30 chapel started for all the boarders and for the next hour we remebered the Reedonians who died in the 1st and 2nd world war.

Two days ago we (Diederik an I) left Wassenaar around 9 o'clock to catch our plane to Gatwick airport just outside of London. The flight was only 1 hour and not too bad except for the fact that the woman next to me smelled a little much. As we arrived at the airport we soon saw Mrs. de Wolf waiting for us, she came to pick us up and to leave to Reed's school in Cobham. After 2 and a half hours we finally arrived but there was a small problem. No one was there! Finally we found someone who could give us the phone number of Mr. Clapp, the sixth form housemaster. He gave us a tour around the school and showed us our rooms, which are very, very small! Around 7:30 most boarders came back from there fallbreak. It was a little awkward but soon most people knew who we are. The next morning we were introduced at the assembly which is every monday morning. Our first lesson was science which was quite fun but very different then the lessons at home. You only sit with 8 people in the classroom and you do a lot of practicals and assignments. We only got 4 subjects and a lot of free time in which we should make our work for Holland. Keeping up with normal school is quite hard, we have to do a lot and if you don't get something there is no one near to explain.
